On the road again

I don't know if you noticed, but I have been a bit absent. That is because I am on the road and have been since last Saturday. I've been driving around the province (and it's a big one, let me tell you) interviewing women for my thesis project. Here's a picture of some of the places I have been on this journey.
Mountains around Hazelton, BC.
'Ksan village, Hazelton, BC. Go to Flikr for more photos.

I am now visiting with my brother and friends in Prince George and should return to Victoria in a few days. I did bring a few knitting projects so I may have some progress to show when I return home.

Knitting therapy

Life has been a bit stressful on the school/work front so, to sooth my edgy nerves I have been knitting.....
The plain Widdershins sock is coming along nicely. And....
...the ribbing on Orangina is growing daily: 4 inches done, one or two more to go.

I've also compled the neck edging on the Sweeten sweater and am getting better at mattress stitch as I seam up the arms and sides.

Dosha anyone?

Found this quiz through a new-to-me blog, The Natural Bardo:

Your Dosha is Pitta

You have a quick mind, a gift for persuasion, and a sharp sense of humor.
You have both the drive and people skills to be a very successful leader.
Argumentative and a bit stubborn, you have been known to be a little too set in your ways.
But while you may be biased toward your own point of view, you are always honest, fair, and ethical.

With friends: You are outgoing and open to anyone who might want to talk to you

In love: You are picky but passionate

To achieve more balance: Be less judgmental of those around you, and take cool walks in the moonlight.

I don't really care to do these quizes too much, but I recently picked up a book at the yoga studio that was talking about doshas and what kind of yoga and food to partake in for your dosha. I thought I was pitta from browsing the book - guess I was right!

cuff

Inspired by Lisa's tower of cuffs, I decided I wanted to try my hand at making one of these fun little projects. So I did.
I had some scrap fabric - perfect for this project - and a bit of green silk that was perfect for visual and textural interest on the top. I just used tiny ricrac for the button loops.

This project is a great way to use a few lovely buttons from the collection. Thanks for the inspiration, Lisa!
